The Saltbox is a unique vacation rental with the ambiance of days gone by. This restored historic residence is situated within sight and sound of the Pacific Ocean in the center of Cayucos -- where level beach access, excellent restaurants, sports rentals, antiques shops, pier, and sources for most necessities are just steps away. Built by a ships captain in the 1880s, the New England saltbox-style structure contains three different living spaces each with its own living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, private entrance, and deck or patio. The Captain's Quarters (entire first floor), Crow's Nest (upstairs attic apartment), and Carriage House (cottage) feature comfortable country furnishings, cozy quilts and colorful vintage accessories. Laundry facilities on premises.
Meet your hosts, Jane Stavola, Donna, Amy, Sasha, and Carol.

"Cayucos - a sunny and scenic beach usually means one thing: crowds - but this is a classic California beach town without a sea of people." The August 1999 issue of Men's Journal magazine proclaimed Cayucos as one its 25 favorite "hideouts and secret spots." Writer David McCumber drove 20,000 miles around the USA seeking America's "four-star, one-horse-towns . . . towns not everyone flocks to . . . where life gets more interesting." | |
